Study of Fiber Structure by Light Microscopy. Preparation of Fiber Samples for Microscopic Analysis.”
2026-02-18
On February 18, 2026, Kalabayeva Kyzbala Raiymbekkyzy, Master of the Department of Art and Artistic Labor and Senior Lecturer, conducted an open class for groups PiK25-2k3 and PiK25-2k4 in the discipline “Industrial Materials Science” on the topic “Study of Fiber Structure by Light Microscopy. Preparation of Fiber Samples for Microscopic Analysis.” The open class was attended by the Head of the Department, PhD, Associate Professor Konakbayeva Ulzhamal Zhandaraliyevna; Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Karsybayev Basterbek Toktarovich; and Master’s degree holders, Senior Lecturers Alshymbayeva Saule Nagashbekkyzy and Kobeyeva Nurgul Mukhtarkyzy. The purpose of the lesson was to develop students’ skills in studying the morphological structure of fibers using light microscopy and to master the technology of preparing micro-specimens. During the practical session, students completed the stages of fiber sample preparation (selection, processing, placement on a glass slide, fixation) and analyzed their structural features using a microscope. Within the framework of industrial materials science, the practical work included examining the fiber composition and weaving characteristics of various fabric types, as well as explaining the influence of structure on their physical and mechanical properties. Students conducted a comparative analysis of the microscopic features of natural and chemical fibers, integrating theoretical knowledge with practical application. The open class was organized at a high professional level and contributed to the development of students’ research competencies, a deeper understanding of the structural characteristics of materials, and the formation of skills necessary for their future professional activities.
