About us

The Department of Chemistry and Biology was established in 2009. It trains qualified specialists working in the field of education, science, culture and higher education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Our main task is to shape the innovative activities of future chemistry and biology teachers. We don't just give theory, we pay great attention to practice. The department has a modern research center and a special greenhouse as an educational and scientific structural unit of the university. At the center, students perform laboratory work in chemistry, biology, physics, term papers and research work. The laboratories carry out bacteriological studies, qualitative and quantitative analysis of the chemical composition and bacteriological composition of drinking water, wastewater, and groundwater in the settlements of the Makhtaral district. Using natural products, students obtain natural dyes from local herbs, soap, and natural dyes added to soap by chemical treatment of local herbs. In 2017, the laboratory "Bacteriological Research" was opened, where chemical and bacteriological analysis of soils, water and phytohormones of plants in Maktaralsky and Zhetysaysky districts is carried out. There is also a student scientific club "Nature Lovers". Students and teachers conduct research in the areas of "Scientific and pedagogical foundations for the formation of professional competence of future teachers using new innovative technologies" and "Studying soils and wastewater in the Maktaaral region using chemical and biological methods."
