Safety — Not Only Online

Today, our faculty hosted a meeting with representatives of the police and the NGO “Sana Sezim.”
It turned out to be a truly important conversation — about things that concern everyone.
Major Yerbol Eleupov spoke about road safety rules, pedestrian crossings, responsibility for smoking in prohibited areas, and other small things that often lead to big problems.
Senior Lieutenant Nazerke Tolegen raised the topic of domestic violence — when terrible things happen behind closed doors, but people remain silent because “it’s the norm” or “it’s shameful to speak out.” It was an honest and necessary discussion.
Social worker Nurtanysh Tangatar from the NGO “Sana Sezim” talked about human trafficking, modern forms of slavery, and how the lack of legal awareness makes people vulnerable.
All speakers shared real stories from their practice — examples of how people get into trouble simply due to ignorance and naivety.
Lately, we’ve been talking a lot about financial literacy and cybersecurity.
But we rarely think about how to stay safe in everyday life — at home, on the street, in daily routines.
And that’s exactly where personal safety begins.
A big thank-you to the speakers for their honesty and for explaining complex things in simple words.
It was lively, useful, and definitely worth it 💡
