Students from the 6B01514 Geography (IP) educational programme embarked on an unforgettable journey through sacred, historical, and geographical sites in the Turkistan Region! 🏔️

The educational field trip was organised to a high standard under the guidance of senior lecturers N.M. Momykul, R.T. Mekenbay, and F.K. Alaydar.

During the trip, the future geographers not only learned about the rich history of their homeland but also observed and studied the region’s unique natural features and architectural monuments firsthand.

📍 The itinerary included:

1️⃣ The Kazhymukan Munaitpasov Museum (Kazhymukan village) — a tribute to the life and achievements of the celebrated hero of the Kazakh people and legendary wrestler.

2️⃣ The historic Kyzyl Kopir — an engineering monument on the Boget River dating from the nineteenth century (1886).

3️⃣ The Appak Ishan Mosque-Museum (Shayan village) — an outstanding example of nineteenth-century architecture and an important part of our spiritual and historical heritage.

4️⃣ Akmeshit Cave — one of southern Kazakhstan’s most mysterious and geomorphologically unique natural sites. Its underground chamber, distinctive microclimate, and trees growing inside particularly impressed the students.

5️⃣ The Domalak Ana Mausoleum — the journey concluded at this sacred site dedicated to the Mother of Mothers, a symbol of wisdom and insight.

💡 The trip became a genuine open-air learning experience for the future geographers. They studied landscapes, karst phenomena, the region’s historical geography and toponymy, and strengthened their academic knowledge.

We thank the students for their enthusiasm and active participation and the faculty organisers for their guidance, support, and expertise! 📸🌿
