Art born from the heart: a visit to the Khalyq murasy – khalyq qazynasy exhibition fair

Preserving traditions, maintaining continuity between generations, and engaging with authentic national art are essential aspects of the professional development of future designers. Lecturers and students of Zhumabek Akhmetuly Tashenev University visited the KÖRME ORTALYǴY exhibition centre, which hosted the large-scale Khalyq murasy – khalyq qazynasy folk crafts exhibition fair, meaning “The people’s heritage is the people’s treasure.”

The exhibition impressed visitors with its wide variety of unique handmade works, ranging from elegant national jewellery and elements of traditional dress to decorative and applied art and household objects. For the students, the event provided an excellent opportunity to explore the origins of traditional craftsmanship, examine textures and ornaments, and discover the secrets of ancient techniques that blend naturally with contemporary design trends.
