TASHENEV UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY PAID TRIBUTE TO THE SPIRIT OF THE GREAT ABAY

On the occasion of the birthday of the great Kazakh poet, thinker, and philosopher Abai Kunanbayev, a flower-laying ceremony was held at the Abai Monument in Abai Park, Shymkent.

A delegation from Jumabek Akhmetuly Tashenev University participated in this spiritually meaningful event, paying tribute to the spirit of Abai.

The event was attended by the Deputy Akim of Shymkent, Sarsen Abaiuly Kuranbek, Chairman of the Shymkent branch of the Writers' Union of Kazakhstan, Mombek Abdakimuly, members of the intelligentsia, poets, writers, media representatives, and city residents.

During the ceremony, Deputy Akim Sarsen Abaiuly Kuranbek emphasized that the value of Abai's heritage continues to grow over time.

"Our ancestor Abai lived in challenging times and left behind an eternal legacy that enlightens the minds of Kazakh society, gaining even greater value as time passes. He cared not only for his own era but also for future generations, encouraging Kazakh society toward education, science, and morality. Every word and thought of Abai serves as a spiritual compass guiding individuals to perfection and the nation to progress," said Sarsen Abaiuly.

In his works, Abai sought the nation's future through education, science, honest labor, and human values. The instructive thoughts in his poems and "Words of Edification" inspire the younger generation to strive for knowledge, self-improvement, and service to their country.

The philosopher's testament—"Do not boast without finding knowledge, do not display arrogance without finding your place"—aligns directly with the core values of our university, which considers education and science to be paramount.

Honoring Abai is not merely celebrating his name, but instilling in the next generation the moral principles, knowledge, labor ethics, and civic values entrusted to us by the great thinker.

Abai's heritage is not a spiritual treasure bound to a single era, but an eternal value that lives on with the nation. Reading, understanding, and passing it down to future generations is our shared duty.
